Coronavirus (Covid-19) in Latin America and the Caribbean

The Covid-19 pandemic is having strong socio-economic consequences, accentuating the already complex scenario faced by countries in the region, characterised by significant structural development traps. In particular, the impact of the Covid-19 crisis is expected to be severe across individuals, households and firms in the absence of ambitious public policy responses. The sequencing of policy priorities will be critical to overcome the crisis and should be structured to address different policy objectives in the immediate, short and medium-term.
